Blogging from the Blackberry--Savannah Update

Haven't posted anything in awhile, for a lot of reasons...first is time constraints. There just isn't a whole lot of time floating around here that isn't already spoken for. Secondly, I haven't had a laptop to use in a couple of weeks, so my computer time has really been limited. Which includes facebook, gmail, blogging, you tube, among other things...

So Savannah was a success. I can now check that locale off my list of places I should visit. We went down on Friday and got to check in to our room early. Got a quick nap in and then hit the town. Ate at a little pub, I think it was called Molly McPhersons. It was yummy. For some reason the only two things I can really remember about it was the waiter was super skinny and humored me by walking past the talking "busts" to make them talk, and there was a devil hanging from the ceiling that looked like it was gonna swoop down and get us. Then we walked around for a good bit and saw all kinds of interesting things. We ended up at this bar called Wet Willies, which had an entire wall devoted to slushy drinks. It was pretty amazing to see all those colors and flavors just churning on the wall. The price was pretty reasonable for a good sized drink, and everybody's clothes glowed.

The next day we made it down to breakfast in a timely fashion and then hit Savannah again. We walked up and down River Street and went into several shops. We ate lunch at some place that wasn't really all that special. The best part was that it had a balcony, but it was a little bit chilly so we moved indoors. Then we took a boat ride/tour thing. It was great to see some of the sights and catch a few winks, but that was about it. Next we headed to a Target to grab a few necessities then out to Tybee Island for a walk om the beach. The beach there was very different than back here at home. Oh wait, we don't have a beach here back home...well of course I mean Myrtle Beach. Anyway, the beach was wide...lots of room between the dunes and the ocean. The sand was also different although I can't seem to really find the words to explain the differences. We took a good long walk and then headed to The Crab Shack for dinner. That place was super awesome. This is a good time to insert that I hate seafood, but I really dug that place. I tried some seafood, but didn't really like any of it. The ambiance was really neat though. We ate outside and the marsh was right there to look at, along with about 50 zillion cats... Oh and I forgot to mention the pit of alligators that greeted us when we arrived.

After we left The Crab Shack we headed over to find the light house. Chris and I always look for a Christmas Ornament when we go out of town and this time we choose to get the lighthouse from Tybee Island as our ornament. So it was only fitting that we actually find the lighthouse and pay it some kind of visit. Well we found it by following these arrows from the sea turtles that marked the way. When we got there it was obvious that there was a wedding taking place, or it could have been two weddings, we aren't sure. There was some speculating on that one. Anyway, the lighthouse was closed for the day, but somehow a Scottish dude got up there to play his bagpipes. We were glad we hadn't tried to sneak up the stairs and make our own tour arrangements. We went to the beach again, but just for a minute before we decided to head back to the little restaurant that was right there on the beach. A dude was there playing a variety of instruments, sometimes a banjo, sometimes an electric guitar, sometimes a keyboard. And a chick was singing who wasn't half bad. We went in and had a round of drinks. That was my most favorite moment of the whole trip. Just sitting there in that little shack drinking a drink, listening to the music, hanging with friends...on the beach.

The trip by far wasn't over and I could tell you all about coming home, but where is the fun in that? No reason to get bummed. I really could have repeated that Saturday a couple of more times before being snapped back into the rrality of life back home.

It was a great trip, Skye took some great picturesan and some fantastic memories were made! Thanks for.a great trip and I vote for a repeat sooner rather than later!

Where did the weekend go?

Where did the weekend go?  Who ever thought of the bright idea to consistently have a 5 day work week and a 2 day weekend?  I am fairly cerain it isn't Biblical or anything like that.  Some politician probably.

Oh well, I am just a little lady with no real power, so I guess we are stuck with the work week such as it is.  This week coming up though should be a fun one.  I hope it zooms by quickly.  On Friday we go to Savannah with the Maloneys.  I am sooooo looking forward to getting the heck outta Rock Hill.  Sometimes it pays just to take a breather and get a fresh perspective.  The Maloneys are pretty cool people and I can see some of our trips with them becoming a tradition.  ;)  Well at least I hope so...

Today we had a Fall festival at church. It is one of my most favorite events that we do at church.  There are a lot of people just milling around, the kids can run off and do their own thing and us parents don't really have to worry too much about what they are doing.  There is a lot of candy, jumpy bounce house thingys, and a big slide.  Then there is the awesome hay ride.  That is always fun!  I bet it would be even more fun at night.

(It just dawned on me that the only people who are going to read this are people who were already at the festival, hah!)

I am a tired chick tonight, but I am gonna wait up on my hubby I think.  He is at guys' night with the SS class.  I think he is having a good time if I can judge by his texts.....

This is a lame entry........

Getting older, but no pants suits for this chick

Okay, maybe I can make this entry a little bit more interesting than the last one....I am getting nervous.  My birthday is approaching and I feel apprehensive about it.  I usually don't put too much stock into birthdays, well I mean my birthday, anyway.  Don't misread me, I don't care that I am turning 35, it is never about the age.  I firmly believe that you are as old as you feel, but let's face it, society places some expectations on us the older we get.  Which sucks....But I am here to tell you right now there are some old fogie things I will NOT be participating in, I don't care how old I get.  The first thing on my list of old folk things to avoid is the matching pants suit and sandals.  I swear, I do not like pants suits, matching casual wear stuff.  You have to know what I am talking about.  You can ask the people I work with.  I will see a middle age, or older woman come into the theater wearing the type of outfit that I despise and I will immediately point it out and tell them, you will never find me in one of those.  What is up with them?  They sell in linen, cotton, and I believe I have even seen them in some form of shiny silkish material.  They are typically uniform in color, maybe have a matching jacket, some beading perhaps.....and the kicker for me, is that the old ladies always wear them with hose and sandals.  NOT ME!!!

Okay I don't know why I got on THAT soapbox, but here is why I am aprrehensive.  I told myself that I was gonna get my tattoo for my birthday.  And by golly I am gonna do it, but I am nervous about it.  Doing something permanant like that is scary.  I also want another piercing, but I am pretty sure I will have to choose one over the other.  I choose the tattoo because it seems like it is now or never.  I am to the point where I am tired of talking about it and I am excited to see what it will look like.  I think now would be a good time to call the tattoo shop and see what I can figure out.......

Save me from the laundry zombies...

So I am not sure why the heck I feel like I need to start a blog...but everybody else is doing it, so why not me?

I need somebody to save me from the laundry zombies.  I seriously don't mind washing the laundry, drying the laundry, folding the laundry, or even sorting the laundry...But putting that stuff away gets me every time.  I think that I may be a little bit ADD when it comes to household chores in general though.  Chores suck.  We should boycott chores.  It's just a thought-

I am on my 5th load of laundry.  I have folded(and sorted) two of them, one load is drying, one load is washing, and one load is in that limbo stage between washing and drying.  The "wet basket" stage.

Okay I get it, this is a lame discussion I am having with myself about laundry, but I'm really just testing the waters here to see if blogging is something I can get into or not.
